"Female Gamers"
May. 8th, 2007 03:30 pmDear men in RPGs,
Would you please stop using the phrase in the title? Do you suddenly become species-blind when women roll dice? No, of course not. A simple observation reveals that you are perfectly capable of using a term more specific than one that can apply to both humans and daffodils. So do it.
They're women gamers. Gamers who are women. Women playing games. Not "female gamers." I'm sick and tired of men talking straight from scripted Star Trek Ferengi hijinks, even the ones where Andrea Martin teaches Quark a Valuable Lesson. And God knows, I think she deserves more work, but that's neither here nor there.
Okay then! I'm glad we had this chat.
